Your Voice, Your Decision: Vote Now on the Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund!

Powering Poverty Relief with Renewable Energy

Your vote is crucial to power our fight against poverty.

Instant Neighbour is in the running for the Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund with our project, ‘Powering Poverty Relief with Renewable Energy,’ but we need your vote to succeed.

What is the need?

As a frontline charity, we face a dual challenge: rising operational costs divert funds from our vital services, while the climate crisis demands urgent action. This project addresses both, ensuring our long-term sustainability and environmental responsibility.

What will the project do?

Having already invested in solar panels, the next step is battery storage. This funding will allow us to store our own clean energy, slashing our energy bills, cutting our reliance on the fossil-fuel grid, and even charging our electric, eco-van sustainably.

Who benefits and what is the impact?

· Short-term: Every pound saved on energy is a pound redirected to our food bank, employability training, and furniture projects—immediately helping more individuals and families.

· Long-term: We build a resilient, cost-effective operation. Reduced bills free up stable, long-term funding for frontline services, ensuring we can meet future community demand. We can also invest in more community led projects like Upcycling and Upskilling.

What is the lasting legacy?

This project isn’t just about our organisation. It’s a tangible model for the third sector, demonstrating how investing in green technology directly fuels social good. We are proving that a commitment to net-zero and a fight against poverty go hand-in-hand.

Help us power this change. This is a voted for project, and we need your support. Voting is open now and closes at 5pm on Monday 8th of December.
