Since joining in 2004 she has been instrumental in moving Instant Neighbour from a struggling charity to a secure social enterprise in owned premises that supports the local community.

Sustainability is the key priority for Instant Neighbour; keeping the issues facing our client group at the top of our agenda have led to the diversification of services and projects we offer whilst maintaining our overarching goal of “alleviating poverty”.

Her entrepreneurial spirit is demonstrable by the charities she’s founded or played a significant role in developing including but not limited to Kaleidoscope, Aberdeen International Children’s Festival, acting as Scotland Director of Common Purpose,   and a founding Director of Bonnymuir Green Community Trust.

She continues her involvement on a Scottish wide basis as Co-Chair of SENscot, Social Enterprise Network Scotland, providing a voice to North East social enterprise, and is Vice Chair of CRNS (Community Resources Network Scotland). She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, an alumni of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a Burgess of Guild for the City of Aberdeen.  She has been actively involved in the creation and development of various community groups in Aberdeen.  She is married, has three daughters, a granddaughter and two grandsons.
