Your Voice, Your Decision: Vote Now on the Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund!
Vote for our Affordable Dreams Project – Quality Mattresses, Fair Prices, Sanitised & Reused.
At Instant Neighbour, we believe in creating a fairer, more sustainable future for everyone. That’s why we’re thrilled to share our Affordable Dreams Project – a project that tackles two urgent challenges at once: waste and affordability.
The Problem
Every year, thousands of mattresses are discarded and sent to landfill, even though many still contain valuable materials and could be reused.
Meanwhile, a good-quality mattress remains out of reach for people on lower incomes.
Everyone deserves a safe, comfortable place to sleep – but quality sleep shouldn’t come at a price someone simply cannot afford.
Our Solution
Our Affordable Dreams Project aims to tackle both challenges together.
We’ll give mattresses a new lease of life through safe, professional sanitisation and reuse – reducing waste, protecting the environment, and making good-quality mattresses more affordable for people in our community.
What Will the Project Do?
Funding from the Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund will allow us to invest in the specialist equipment needed to develop and expand our mattress reuse operation.
This will enable us to:
- Divert more mattresses from landfill
- Professionally clean and sanitise suitable mattresses
- Extend the life of quality products
- Make high-quality mattresses more affordable
- Reduce waste and support Scotland’s circular economy
The Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund gives communities the opportunity to decide which projects should receive investment to help create a fairer, greener future.
By investing in mattress reuse, we can reduce waste and landfill while helping people access quality essential household goods at an affordable price.
But this funding is decided by YOU.
YOUR VOTE REALLY MATTERS
We need our community behind us.
If you believe good-quality mattresses shouldn’t be wasted, and everyone deserves the chance of a good night’s sleep, please vote for our Affordable Dreams Project.
