Volunteering & Employment

Volunteering

Are you enthusiastic, reliable and looking for an opportunity to build your confidence, learn a new skill, or maybe you simply have some free time on your hands? If so, why not volunteer with Instant Neighbour! We have a variety of roles for which we are looking for volunteers, including:-

  • Office Administration Assistants;
  • Van Drivers & Assistants;
  • Shop Assistants;
  • Warehouse / Stock Assistants;
  • Trained Electricians / Gas Fitters;
  • Trained Portable Appliance Testers; and
  • Retail Assistants

Our volunteers play a crucial role in the success of our charity. Here is what some of our volunteers think about volunteering with Instant Neighbour:-

I heard through one of my friends that there was a  charity that needed helpers so I volunteered. The people in the office were really friendly and welcoming and sounded good to work with so I wanted to offer my time. I like the people here, it’s a good charity and it helps a lot of people out; including myself. My favourite thing to do at the charity is to organise the donations in the warehouse. By fulfilling this, I feel I have achieved a goal I have set myself and my time is worthwhile here.

I first joined as I knew the manager and he was aware that I had retired and was bored so he asked me to come to volunteer and I have never looked back. I work in the food bank; it gets me out of the house and gives me the opportunity to speak to people and gives me a routine rather than sitting in the house alone. I get a good laugh with other volunteers and feel a part of the team here at Instant Neighbour.

It gets me out and about, I have made good friends at instant Neighbour and I enjoy their company. I feel my confidence has improved since working with the charity and I have gained necessary skills for future employment.

I am a van driving assistant and have been here for a year and a half. Instant Neighbour is a good environment and it makes you feel like you are welcome and a part of a team; you aren’t just a number, you are respected. I have made really good friends with everyone here and really enjoy working with them all.

Volunteering at Instant Neighbour is a great way for me to give back. My family had very little when I was growing up, so now I’m in a position to be able to help, I love donating my time to help those in need. The team at Instant Neighbour are great, you feel very welcome.
